Spring/Summer 2026 TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) Program Application

TRIO SSS is federally funded by the U. S. Department of Education. We serve students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents with an academic need who meet at least one of the following criteria: 

  • low-income under federal income guidelines
  • neither parent has a bachelor's degree, and/or
  • has a documented disability


TRIO SSS also serves veterans, unaccompanied homeless youth (as defined by the McKinney Vento Act), and former foster care youth. Our mission is to provide student-centered and holistic services that support academic, career, and personal success.

 

 

How to Complete Your Application

Your completed application must be signed and dated before it will be reviewed. Submitting this application does not guarantee eligibility or admittance to TRIO SSS.

To complete your application, you will need to submit a copy of this year's tax return (if you are an independent student) or your parent(s)/guardian(s) most recent tax return (if you are a dependent student). We will provide a secure document link for your to upload this confidential document.

We use the FAFSA guidelines to determine independent or dependent status. If you or your parent(s)/guardian(s) did not file taxes, you must submit a Family Income Statement Form, found here. If you have any questions, please reach out to TRIOSSS@msudenver.edu.

We use TRIO SSS federal income guidelines to determine income eligibility for TRIO SSS. Please submit a copy of one (1) of the following that shows total taxable income (not adjusted gross income):

  • Submit a Scopy of your most recent and signed FAFSA
